I’d have to say that I was contemplating getting an old Beetle as a project car. But after seriously contemplating the practicality of slapping on hardware to an old bug, I decided to forgo the plan. I find the Beetle cute. And I’d probably buy one to make a toy out of it but to keep it as a daily driven car, maybe not. Unless of course its the new Beetle, which is, by my opinion, a comeback totally unworthy of John Travolta.
And Volkswagen is at it again, churning out an all-new Volkswagen Beetle dubbed as the Network Edition. And it’s all cute and shiny and black and very much reminiscent of the old Beetle of the 60s.
It’s a convertible. Perfect for those who’d want to look cute and cuddly inside this car. The interiors sport a touch of red. Like color matters most but you also get heated seats, front and side airbags, head restraints, etc… Under the hood, you get a choice of two gasoline engines. Only 200 of these will be made available.
