You have got to hand it to Toyota for having the balls to state the obvious. Or is this just some dumb slip from whoever’s in charge with their PR? Either way, come on! This coming from the supposed top automaker in the whole world?
But here’s the other part of the prescription: Drive less. I know, you figure we’re out of our minds to suggest such a thing. But consider this. It doesn’t matter whether you’re driving a Corolla or a Tundra: When you don’t crank up your car for a trip, or when you consolidate several trips into one, that amounts to fuel you haven’t burned. And unburned fuel is unspent money.
That just sounded dumb. In this case, it doesn’t matter if my car is a Nissan or a Ferrari or a Maybach. Zero miles traveled by car effectively levels the playing field. So probably a corollary to this is don’t but a Toyota, buy a bike instead. It seems that I’m liking Toyota less and less recently. I might stop favoring them even.
