Car WreckWe have several postings on how you can protect your teenagers from road accidents. The day they get their license is a day of a day of awareness on road safety.

But what is that feeling you get every time you see him behind the wheels? Feeling nervous and unsettled about him driving about town? His own license means you can retire from being his chauffeur, you know.

So don’t fret. you just have to know how to prepare your young driver for this responsibility.

Cars. Some cars are safer than others. If you are going to buy a car for your teenager, you may want to know that some cars have more safety equipment than others. Look for features like ABS, front and side airbags, and stability control. Newer cars tend to have more advanced safety features. They costs more but it’s worth it.

Monkey see, monkey do. If you want to emphasize to your teens the importance of staying focused on the road, be a role model when you’re driving him. Avoid doing the things you don’t want him to do (like using your phone) and observe safety precautions (like strapping the seatbelt).

Regulation. Teen drivers should be limited to driving at daytime. Some states actually have laws against new drivers driving at night. You can also volunteer to be his passenger every once in a while so that you can teach him your own techniques of road safety.
