Nissan GT-R InteriorNow talk about a car that plays it smart. This news bit just makes the Nissan GT-R a tad more amusing. The GT-R just “knows” how to have fun when youwant to have fun. The moment your car hits the tracks, the satnav system will automatically disable the speed limiter to unleash the beast within.

So far, this option is available for the Japan market. Once the satnav system registers that you are in a race track, the system will prompt the ECU to disable the speed limiter that holds back the GT-R to 111 mph on the road. According to reports, the North American model will not have the same features but the speed limiter is set to 156 mph. Definitely more than enough even for some empty Nevada highway.

Nissan is said to have encrypted the ECU so that it will be difficult to mod the engine to disable the speed limiter. Let’s just wait and see.
