Nissan will not be standing by idly and insiders report that the company is considering creating a replacement for the 200SX. For the longest time, Nissan focused on developing the higher-end Z cars and the GT-R but with competitors poised to create cars for the lower end of the sports car market, Nissan has to react..

The 200SX will be slotted below the 370Z but will sport a rear-wheel drive platform. The challenge for Nissan, though, is to find a capable platform that will be able to match the performance that they need.
