Once you go Black, you’d never go back. No racial slurs meant for this one. But it does seem like that’s the case for the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 Black series. While the S has been Merc’s flagship car in its fleet (even if the CL class has exceeded it in terms of price, and the soon-to-be phased out SLR is its performance vehicle), the SL (sport light) series proved to be one of the most impressive Merc series. Especially if there’s the “AMG” and “Black” labels to it. Meaning it packs just a bit more oomph to the ride.

Now, Merc has just recently revealed the SL 65 Black. Forget the SLR for once. It’s soon to be phased out anyway. This SL 65 Black has got the style and (by the numbers) performance to possibly pickup the reigns from the SLR. Powering the car is the AMG 6.0L biturbo V12 dishing out a massive 670 hp and 738 lb-ft of torque.

Mated to the engine is a MG SPEEDSHIFT PLUS five-speed automatic gearbox that delivers power to the rear wheels. That power can propel the car from 0-62 mph in just 3.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 199 mph. And that’s only because Merc has electronically limited the top speed. Freaking amazing. Also upgraded are the suspensions and brakes to handle this beast.

A limited run of 200 cars will be made. Price, definitely is only fit for a Saudi prince.
