Talk about being aggressive. Lotus has said that it will be moving upmarket and their days of mid-market performance vehicles might be coming to a close.
The company has announced that all contracts with European dealerships will be terminated by July 2012. This is to overhaul its dealership network. The notice was sent by Lotus CEO Dany Bahar to all Lotus Euro dealers.
The early notice is within the company’s deal with the network that a two-year notice must be issued in the event of termination.
Lotus plans to slug it out with the likes of Ferrari, Porsche and Aston Martin and is making what they consider the necessary steps to move towards that direction.
