A good dose of talent. A few minutes with Photoshop. Then it’s a rave fest for geek gearheads. Sometimes fans just can trump design houses any day. While the actual project is still filed under rumors, Jon Sibal has been gracious enough to give all of us a sneak peak of how the Scud would look like topless.

No one has spotted any test mule yet and it might be a while before someone does. So until then, we have these renderings to give us a visual treat. Very nice work on it too. A few blurred details and smudges but hey, at least it gives us something to look at.

We just hope that this car will still sport the 4.3L v8 that dishes out 510 horsepower and offer pretty much the same performance as its hard top counterpart. Come on, engineers, do your thing.

Summer’s over and yet it’s only these last few weeks that we get to see these babies go topless. They Veyron finally shed of its top and now it’s Ferrari’s turn. No one has really seen mules or prototypes anywhere but word has it that Ferrari will be shaving the top off of the F430 Scuderia.

The 430 Scud is already a great car and it would amaze me, yet again, how they’d be able to match the performance of the hardtop with the convertible. They somehow did it in the regular F430 Spider but the Scud is the improved lightweight version and they’d be making the Scud Spider a bit heftier for supports unless of course, they make this a targa.

Since this is only a rumor, we might just have to speculate that the car will still sport the 4.3L v8 that dishes out 510 horsepower. Whether Michael Schumacher will be unveiling this one, we’ll just have to wait for more definitive details on the car.

Ferrari F430 BiofuelHehehehe… Now I am amused with this one. Save for those efforts to create electronic or fuel cell or hybrid sports cars, for some reason, this begs the question “When did supercars have anything to do with saving the planet?” Especially if the supercar’s badge has got the prancing pony.

But they’ve done it and better believe it. Amidst the oil crisis around the world, Ferrari joins in the green party by tweaking this F430 to run on ethanol E85. Biofuel, baby!

If you think that this mean machine has gone hippie-soft, it appears that all are in the upside with this one. Horsepower increased by 2%, torque increased by 4% and fuel consumption by 5%. How’s that for going green?

One problem for Ferrari though, this is just an interesting concept. But judging the places where the Ferrari sells their cars, biofuel is not a popular fuel.

Ferrari F430 ScuderiaOkay, so it’s a month after Frankfurt and we’ve seen all the specs and the galleries featuring the latest Ferrari F430 - the Scuderia. And like all gearheads who can’t really physically drive such a monster, we’d just have to wait for some crazy media men (like Jeremy Clarkson) to test it out for us.

And for this round it’s Tiff Needell who gets to drive the Scud and command the 4.3 V8 engine capable of 510 hp and all the carbon fiber strapped on the damn thing.

Anyway, Tiffy with the Scud after the cut.

Ferrari Dino and F430 ReplacementWatch out, world. The Ferrari Dino is back. I really am not a fan of the old Dino. I share the position of most critics that it isn’t a Ferrari at all. But despite the repeated denials, word has it that the Dino will indeed be reincarnated in time for the 2008 Geneva Motor Show.

Heavily concealed Dino prototypes (top) have been spotted and by the looks of it, the prototype’s design does echo the front design of the old one (the 246 GT). I’m just glad that it lost the slim elongated rear of the old one. Not much has been said about this new Dino so until some more information is leaked or released, we might just have to wait until next year to get the complete 411 on this new Ferrari.

Speaking of new Ferraris, buzz for the new F430 replacement (bottom) has been strong. A lot of car enthusiasts have wondered if it will be able to top its predecessor. Remember that even Jeremy Clarkson has dubbed the F430 as “the best car” he has ever driven. While not much track information has been revealed about its latest incarnation, the F430 Scuderia, the specs alone is enough to make any Ferrari fan anticipate this replacement. It is known to be even lighter than the F430 but packs a tamer 500hp V8 engine (10 less than the Scud).

Reports in the past that the Enzo replacement will be a monster. With the Dino and the replacements in Ferrari’s pipeline. It will indeed be an exciting year ahead of all Ferrari fans.
