I just can go on and on about the beauty of tuning. And with the right amount of cash, available technology and know-how, you can really push an already great car to the borders of Clarkson-esque “Absolutely bonkers!” Like this one by Edo Competition for example.
They got an already-great Ferrari Enzo (which already produces 650-hp from a 6.0L V12) then tweaked it some to put 50 more horses, boosting overall power to 700 hp and 527 lb-ft of torque. The numbers - 0-62mph in 3.5 seconds and 0-124mph in a sub-10 9.5 second effort. Now that’s how you make a fast car even faster.
Edo Competition slapped on a high-flow catalytic converter, performance muffler, modified intakes and recalibrated the ECU to produce such results. Other mods include an adjustable exhaust sound level, sport suspensions, high performance clutch and a new transmission unit giving this Enzo the same shift times as the FXX Evoluzione.

The Ferrari Enzo’s so good that Ferrari decided to use the founder’s name with it. And thinking about it, it might just be hard for Ferrari to top it. But that’s the nature of automotive engineering - pushing the boundaries. We all have to admire what Bugatti did, doing it for the sake of doing the impossible and it’s possible for Ferrari to do just the same.
However, with the very high standard set by the Enzo, you still have to wonder and the word going around is that they just might. Initial speculation shows that Ferrari might just go with a more tamed down supercar with the Millecheli concept which is supposed to be powered by a smaller V8 engine capable of 500hp.
The current reports now state that this new Ferrari, while sporting a V8, will be fed by twin-turbos raising the power to a staggering 900 hp - 250 horses more than the Enzo. Now imagine that being strapped on a chassis that’s just as light. Massive power and this makes the Enzo successor interesting news when it comes out indeed.
