No disrespect to Enzo’s son, but the ‘Dino’ name didn’t really do Ferrari any good and using it as a badge might just be another marketing disaster. You can’t just relegate a brand to not being a “proper” Ferrari and bring resurrect it and expect the same reception as the flagship designations.
This entry-level Ferrari, however, does deserve a second look. Codenamed F149 is a 2+2 vehicle that would pack the same 4.3L engine that can be found in the F430 but would have a price tag less than $190,000. The car would also pack some new technologies including Ferrari’s new direct injection technology, a new gearbox, and throttle body.
The car will be sharing its chassis with the Maserati GranTurismo. Ferrari plans to debut this one in this year’s Paris Motor Show and will be producing units ranging from 6,000 to 10,000 per year.
