Caparo T1Now this is bound to be some scary shit. The Caparo T1 has had a very hairy reputation as a firecracker that can blow your head off. Remember how it nearly toasted Fifth Gear’s Jason Plato and quite a few other incidents were noted in the car’s history. Now the company has just revealed its most “hardcore” version of the T1.

The new version – dubbed the T1 Race Extreme – sports an uprated version of the 3.5L V8 that will now dish out 620 bhp. For more track-day goodness, the T1 Race Extreme will have a tuneable ECU which will allow for adjustments with the throttle and gearshifts.

That gives the car a menacing power-to-weight ration of 1127 bhp per ton. We can all just speculate at how much that power can shave the 1:10.6 lap time it posted on the Top Gear power board.

The T1 Race Extreme will also get 355mm carbon-ceramic brakes equipped with 6-piston calipers at the front and 4-piston calipers at the back to help the car ease to slower speeds. The car will also get a fully-adjustable aerodynamics kit and suspension package.
