Brabus SV12If you think that the S-Class is just a car for industrialists and top government officials (war and crime lords included) to be driven in, then this might be an S-class that any one greedy with power would like to drive himself.

Meet the Brabus SV12 R – it’s basically a Mercedes S-class that packs 740 bhp. The power comes from a 6.3L twin-turbo V12. Brabus slapped on a new crankshaft, forged pistons, a new ECU and a stainless steel exhaust. The engine generates so much torque that they even had to limit it to 811 lb-ft.

That allows the car to go from standstill to 62 mph in just 4.0 seconds quite an amazing feet given that the car wasn’t put on a diet. The top speed is in supercar nirvana range at 211 mph and even that’s limited.

To help the car stop, Brabus fitted the car with a high-performance braking system which features a set of 12-piston calipers up front with vented and cross-drilled discs.

Menacing.

Brabus, with all the oomph that it gets just by its name (BRABUS… Sounds harsh, doesn’t it?), is best known for turning Mercs into murderers. Okay, sure, they also touched Smart for their aftermarket tuning, but you can’t deny what they’ve already done with a lot of Merc and Maybach cars. Take the Brabus Bullit Black Arrow for example.

Anyway, here they are again trying to put AMG, Merc’s in-house tuners, to shame by putting the C63 AMG on a steroid diet. Uh, yeah. Steroid is my euphemism for the B63 S engine tuning kit that they slap on to the C63 AMG making it burp out 550 horses instead of the 457 that the 6.2L V8 already generates. That’s nearly a hundred hp! That allows for a 0-62 mph time of 4.3 seconds and a top speed that’d breach the 200 mph barrier at 205.

The tuning kit includes newly programmed engine electronics with special mapping for injection and ignition. The intake side also features a sport air filter for better air flow. It pretty much covers the three components of combustion – air, spark, and fuel. The tuning kit also features a high-performance metal catalysts with low back pressure that allows you to drive it without getting flagged for violating emission protocols.

ower kit comprises newly programmed engine electronics with special mapping for injection and ignition. But that’s not all: The intake side features a sport air filter for improved supply of combustion air. The exhaust side features high-performance metal catalysts with low back pressure that also ensure that the tuned V8 engine meets stringent EURO IV emission limits.

And good news for 63 owners. Even if you don’t drive a C-class, the B63 S kit can be slapped on to all the other 63 AMG cars (E, CLS, S…)

Brabus BullitFrankfurt Auto Show just a few days away and press releases and previews still come pouring in. Here’s yet another one. A relatively small car that packs a punch and kicks like a mule. The Brabus Bullit is a production car based on the Mercedes C-Class and sports the BRABUS SV12 S Biturbo displacement engine.

As far as power is concerned, the 6.3L 12-cylinder 3-valve engine equipped with intercooled turbochargers a dishes out 720 hp and a staggering 974 lb-ft of torque. All this power translated to speed accounts to 0-100 in 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 224mph!

The design’s not all show too. It features aerodynamic properties with the aluminum fender flares. The large grille’s is designed to allow maximum cooling for the radiator and front brakes. Added performance features a three piece spoiler and a rear apron. It also features height-adjustable Brabus coil-over suspension with ten selectable settings. To further aid handling, it’s equipped with sport sway bars to reduce body roll when attacking corners.

Inside, the Bullit offers no less with carbon-fiber covers. It even sports an ergonomic sports steering wheel with aluminium pedals and shifters.

Can’t wait to see this tested on a track. The numbers look absolutely impressive and the photos makes it seem a real treat for gearheads.
