Audi RS AvantI was never a fan of wagons. Maybe I’ll reconsider that when I have kids. Or maybe I should – with the Audi RS Avant.

Sure it’s a family wagon, but how many family wagons have enough horsepower to beat a Ferrari 316 Scaglietti (with 533 hp). The RS Avant can dish out 580hp with its V10 FSI engine twin-turbo. 0-60 takes 4.6 seconds. Being a wagon, the car tips the scale at 2,025 kg, putting the power-to-weight ratio to just 3.5 kg to every horsepower.

The engine is mated to a six-speed tiptronic and is linked to Audi’s quattro four-wheel-drive system. And to stop the car, Audi features choices between aluminum discs (that goes with the 19-inch option) and ceramic discs (that goes with the 20-inch option) How’s that for a wagon?

The interior is laced with Audi’s typical carbon fiber, aluminium, leather and Alcantara. Safety features like belts, impact and crumple zones and airbags as standard. The RS Avant’s a true high-performance sport wagon.
