Aston Martin Lagonda SUV ConceptAston Martin wanted to revive its old luxury Lagonda line by creating as an SUV, the concept of which they showcased in the last Geneva Motor Show earlier in the year. However, Lagonda chairman David Richards among some other Aston people were not pleased with how the concept looked as reports claimed.

Usually, this just means that it’s back to the drawing board for Aston’s design and engineering teams, however, it seems that the car will need a lot more work. Aston chief Dr. Ulrich Bez announced that the project is indefinitely put on hold for now.

Bez claims that it’s due to the economic crisis, and that reveals how much work the Lagonda still requires. “We have several sources ready to invest upward of a quarter-billion pounds but the timing right now is simply wrong. We have some work to do yet, and it takes a lot of investment,” said Bez.

Richards, however, is said to be intent in creating a new and better concept to showcase in a motor show later in the year.
